T-Shirt flare

Last summer my mom and I were going through an Annie's Attic catalog and saw these cute t-shirts that had been crocheted around the sleeves, bottom, and neck. We decided they didn't look that complicated and figured out how to do it ourselves.  I found some cute shirts at Wal-Mart for a couple of bucks and made this:
I decided to leave the neck line alone cause it already had a cute style to it and I didn't want to take away from that.
There's those Spring colors again, they just create such happiness. I crocheted another shirt that had flowers on it with yellow thread for Ellie, she is currently bein a big turkey and won't let me take a pic up of her in it, when she decides to corporate I will had the photo.

Flower Hair Clips

A couple weeks ago I went to Michaels for some yarn and came out with, some pretty white, green and yellow flowers, along with numerous other things.  I went home went through my stash and came up with these  beauties:
I have an all green one too but Ellie ran off with it and I can't seem to find it at the moment.
Ellie LOVES to wear these fun colored flowers in her hair(which is big for her)! Speaking of hair clips
Queeny Belle Frills is having an AWESOME giveaway go check it out! You can find her on FB too!

Apparently I am in Spring mode cause everything I have been doing involves these colors, they are just so cheery and fun!

Hand Towels

I apologize for the lack of posts this weekend. My birthday was Easter weekend so we were very busy, but I did find time to make these cute crochet hand towels:

Funny story I have had these towels for 4yrs, I've had them all ready to crochet I just never got around to it! Honestly I had completely forgotten about them, until I was cleaning the our back bedroom (for the in-laws) and found them again and decided it was about time I worked on them. I had the green, yellow and pink yarn and went out and got some purple. I think they turned out darling, I love the bright fresh spring colors!

I will be doing a tutorial for these soon so keep an eye out!

This little piggy went to...

my etsy shop! I have been hooked (no pun intended) on amigurumi animals, honestly I just can't stop they are so fun and dare I say easy. If you crochet and your haven't tried makin amigurumi than you should cause seriously they are AWESOME! My latest one is this cute little piggy. I have been playin around with different kinds of yarn as well, this one is Peaches & Creme 100% cotton yarn, it has a cleaner look to it and by that I mean no fuzzy's, and I know that it will wash well, over all I just like the look of it better.

I think he turned out so cute, my husband on the other hand said it looked like I duck, yeah that's right a duck! I told him he needed to get his eyes checked. My son isn't much better he thought it looked like a dog with a funny nose, good thing I don't rely on their opinions.

So I don't know I think the color pink and the curly tail give it away, but apparently I'm crazy!

Anyway I thought I might make 3 pigs and a wolf, it would be a neat way to bring the story alive don't ya think!?

Batman Cape Tutorial

Here it is the long awaited tutorial for the Batman Cape, sorry it has taken so long but well life happened and this just got put on the back burner. Anyway let's get started you will need:
Black and yellow fleece (I got a 1/2 yard black and 1/4 yard yellow)
 scissors,
 pins,
 measuring tape,
 glue gun,
small bowl,
batman logo
Start by measuring your child from the his shoulder to his heal(or how long you want the cape to be). Mine is 25in long. With your fabric folded measure and cut your length.
Then measure your child from shoulder to shoulder, mark it with a pin.
Lay your measuring tape from the bottom corner of your fabric to your pin, using the measuring tape as a guide pin your fabric, like this..
Keep your cape folded and using your bowl trace 3 half circles, they can be the same size or different sizes.
I made a larger half circle close to the fold, then I went smaller.
This is what it should look like opened up.
Take your batman logo and pin it to your yellow fleece, cute it out and pin it to the back of your cape.
Cut a 2 in wide strip as long as you want for ties. Mine was 32 in long. Lay 2 in strip flat and line cape about 1 inch in then fold over the strip and pin it to the cape. Then get out your handy dandy glue gun (that's right I said glue gun) and glue your batman symbol, and your ties. And that's it.
And there ya have it a fast, easy quick no sew batman cape, any superhero would love!!

Puppy Love

I have been adding to my crocheting skills by learning to crochet Amigurumi animals. I ordered a crochet book from Annie's Attic that has small crocheted animals (remember my bunny) made with size 10 crochet thread. I thought just for the heck of it I would try using yarn and a bigger hook. The first time I tried it I did another bunny, my oldest liked it so much I can't get it away from her long enough to take a picture! A couple days ago I decided to try out a different animal and made this cute puppy...

He worked up quite quickly, I had all the body parts (that sounds so morbid) done within an hr, it took about another hr to sew him together. I finished him up last night by embroidering his eyes and mouth. My kids love this little guy and are very sad I have decided to put him on my etsy shop. Little do they know they are each getting a Amigurumi for Easter!
